Born in San Jose, Costa Rica, Alejandro grew up in North Carolina after moving to the US in 1985. A high school teacher reinforced his passion for black and white still photography and introduced him to the works of such photographers as Ansel Adams, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Edward Weston.

After graduating from the Academy of Art_San Francisco, he began to work in Los Angeles as an assistant, focus puller, operator, and cinematographer. His collaboration with clients include Microsoft (2014/15 Super Bowl), Ford,

McDonalds, eBay, Disney, Warner Bros, NBC/Universal, Capitol Records, and Atlantic Records to name a few.  He has shot music videos for such high profile artists as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden, Mumford & Sons, Seal, Moby, Aloe Blacc, 50Cent, Snoop Dogg, Ne-Yo, Marc Anthony, Lil Wayne, and LL Cool J.  His work also is on exhibition at the new LAX Tom Bradley International Terminal on the 'Welcome' and 'Bon Voyage' walls (Moment Factory/LAX).  He has been featured in an article of American Cinematographer Magazine.

Alejandro believes in the narrative form, and revealing the subtleties of the characters and stories through light, shadow, and the juxtaposition of the subject within the frame.
