Why Did Charles I lose the English Civil War?

The English Civil War started in 1642 and ended in 1651. It comprised of several armed conflicts between the Cavaliers (Royalists) and the Roundheads (Parliamentarians). Oliver Cromwell was the leader of the victorious side, the Roundheads. The reasons why the King lost, are a mixture of the King's weaknesses, and Parliament's strengths.
