Nihaarika is a being in the near-pursuit of sensory-perceptual images.

A professional theatre actor from Mumbai, she moved to UK whilst completing an MA in Physical Performance and Actor-Training at the University of Exeter - training under Phillip Zarrilli in the psychophysical acting-methodology, which employs the principles of East-Asian martial-arts practices to create self-directed performers.

She has recently worked with ARTSADMIN and Artist Mark Storro on a Live Art/Performance project titled ‘Skin Of My Teeth.’  Further participated in a residency with the LOTOS Collective at the BARBICAN, performed at the SPILL Festival (2012) and is a part-of the Spoken Word Ensemble at ROUNDHOUSE.

Within the aesthetics of quietude and stillness, she is currently exploring the performative space that emerges through the confluence of the cinematic & theatrical.

Recurring themes involve the examination of the liminal – the spaces-in-between the traces of memories, fragments of consciousness and frayed ends of dissolving realities.

She is currently a part of a UK Based Live Art/Performance Collective 'the ahhh-ness of things.'
