What is the control panel?

The control panel allows you to change the DNS records from the default ones provided by the registrar.

Different registrars can have different layouts of control panels and other names for it as well. You might find it under 'DNS Manager' or 'Domain Manager".

Modifying the Domain's DNS

What is DNS?

DNS stands for Domain Name System and it points your domain to your website, by converting domain names to IP addresses.

Why do I need to change my DNS records?

The DNS is compiled of different records that indicates where your site is situated, on which server. Changing these records is needed to point your domain to your new IM Creator site.

Changing the A record

The A record should point to the IP : 216.239.32.21

The host is @, which can also be called an empty record. If you are asked for a 'Name', enter your domain without any subdomain (yourdomain.com and not www.yourdomain.com or mail.yourdomain.com)

Make sure you don't have any other 'empty' A records. Some control panels will not allow you to add an A record until you delete the previous ones.

Changing the CNAME

The CNAME should point to: ghs.google.com

The host is WWW. If you are asked for a 'Name', enter your domain with 'www.' before it (www.yourdomain.com).
