Don't have a domain?

You can buy a new one from us. In the editor, go to Settings > Domain > Buy a New Domain.

Connecting your existing domain requires changing the DNS Records in your registrar so that the domain will point to our servers and your new site.

The registrar is where you originaly purchased the domain. If you don't remember who your registrar is, you can use whois.net to find out.

3. In your registrar's Control Panel, change the A record

    and CNAME

Add an empty (@) A record with the value 174.129.25.170

Add a 'www' CNAME with the value of

 www.im-router.com (include the www)

Add the complete CNAME with the www.

Make sure to SAVE these changes. Usually, it takes up to 24 hours for these changes to propagate worldwide.

To activate click PUBLISH in the editor of your site in IM Creator, and your site should be online.

If you are unable to make the DNS changes yourself,

here's a suggested letter to your registrar:

Hi,

I have the domain name yourdomain.com registered with you and I need assistance

changing the DNS records in order to point my domain to my new site.

Please make sure my DNS records are the following:

A record -        Host --> @ (empty)            points to --> 174.129.25.170

CNAME -         Host --> WWW                 points to --> www.im-router.com

What is the control panel?

The control panel allows you to change the DNS records from the default ones provided by the registrar.

Different registrars may have different control panel layouts and other names for it as well. You might find it under 'DNS Manager' or 'Domain Manager".

Changing the A record

The A record should point to the IP : 174.129.25.170

The host is @, which can also be called an empty record. If you are asked for a 'Name', enter your domain without any subdomain (yourdomain.com and not www.yourdomain.com or mail.yourdomain.com)

Make sure you don't have any other 'empty' A records. Some control panels will not allow you to add an A record until you delete the previous ones.

Changing the CNAME

The CNAME should point to: www.im-router.com

The host is WWW. If you are asked for a 'Name', enter your domain with 'www.' before it (www.yourdomain.com).

If you're using GoDaddy's control panel, that's how the DNS records should look like after making the changes. Don't forget to click the "Save" button to make the changes permanent.
