Robin Hood lived by a code, while trying to save his country, he also tried to save his town, feeding the poor and helping them with their taxes, his philosophy was and always has been ‘Rob from the rich to give to the poor’ and although full of good intentions, does this philosophy still have a place in the 21^st century?

If you were to ask someone ‘If you could steal a wealthy sum of money from a very rich man to give to a very poor family and possibly save their life, without being detected and without harming anyone in the process, would you?’

A survey we conducted shows that 16 people would and 4 people would not, the people who voted yes said;

“Because money is nothing, I would rather give the person who is dying money so they can live because life is valuable.”

As for the philosophy in the 21^st century, a recent news article has named a couple as the ‘modern day Robin Hood’ for their work in third world countries, at an unusual cost.

Michael Foster and Susan Cooper ran a Cannabis Factory in their farm house, using the profits to help sick kids in Kenya, the article quoted “They supported children through school, brought computers for an eye hospital nearby and paid for the amputation of a diseased leg that threatened to kill a young man.” The question now, while the couple sits in jail with a 3 year sentence, is, is Robin Hood’s philosophy still a good one? Some would say yes and some would say no but the philosophy of “Rob the rich to feed the poor” will forever and always will be the back bone of a very great legend with very great character.
